It all started with a conversation between a group of French-speaking immigrant friends in Calgary.
In 2008, there was no Francophone organization dedicated to promoting cultural communities in Calgary, and thus facilitating the integration of immigrants from these communities .
That year, this group of friends got together to discuss what they could do to make a difference. That’s how a conversation among friends gave birth to an organization that today improves the lives of young people, women and families in Calgary.
The Portail de l’Immigrant Association offers a range of services and programs that meet the needs of the Francophone community in all its diversity. The organization promotes and shares Francophone cultural riches with the general public in Alberta.
The beacon of a Francophone, multicultural, inclusive and flourishing community.
We treat each and everyone with great consideration by taking approaches that honor their culture, background and experiences.
We listen carefully to our clients without judgment. We seek to put ourselves in their shoes to better understand their needs and serve them accordingly.
We ensure that all members of the community can access services, participate fully in our activities and benefit equally from our resources.
We participate in collective initiatives that serve the interests of our stakeholders. We develop our partnerships by bringing our dynamism and our spirit of creativity.
We treat everyone with whom we interact with fairness. Whether it is in the treatment of our employees, the delivery of our services or our interactions, we act with integrity.
